FAQ

Custom linen napkins questions, answered.

Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.

What is the minimum order?

Our minimum order is just 12 napkins — one small dining room is a normal order — with bulk tiers for banqueting and hire stock.

How fast will my napkins arrive?

Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and finished napkins ship in about 2 weeks, with express turnaround available when an opening date is fixed.

Do you make paper napkins?

No, none at all. No ply counts, no foil stamping and nothing described as “linen-feel”. Everything we make is woven cloth that goes back into a wash. If you need disposables we will happily point you at a printer who does them properly rather than take the order.

Is a linen napkin actually made of linen?

Usually not. In hospitality “linen” is a category name for washable table goods, and most so-called linen napkins are spun polyester or a cotton blend. True flax linen is a specific fibre with quite different behaviour. We name the fibre on every quote so you always know which one you are buying.

Polyester or cotton?

Polyester repels water and attracts oil, which is backwards for a napkin — but it never needs pressing and it lasts. Cotton absorbs immediately and releases grease in the wash, and it creases, shrinks and needs a press. If you have a press, buy cotton-rich. If you do not, buy spun polyester and accept the trade knowingly.

Why does the hem matter so much?

Because napkins take the hardest wash in the building and the corner is where the load concentrates. A serged edge frays at the corner within months and a frayed napkin cannot be reissued. Every napkin we make has a double-turned hem with mitred corners and a lockstitch.

Why will our napkins not hold a fold?

Weave first, weight second, folding technique a distant third. A soft light plain weave will slump whatever your team does. A damask or woven satin-band napkin in the same fibre stands up. It is the reason banqueting rooms buy damask and it has nothing to do with the pattern.

Can our logo be printed rather than embroidered?

We will only embroider. Napkins are washed hotter than anything else you own and are frequently bleached, and print does not survive that for a season. Embroidery in bleach-fast polyester thread lasts as long as the napkin, and we redraw and digitise your artwork free.
